The Authority was constituted to bring a single point of coordination to commercial transit through the Strait of Hormuz. Prior to its establishment, clearance was handled bilaterally between owners, agents and patrol commands, producing inconsistent documentation and repeated delays at the corridor.
The Authority maintains the transit registry, publishes the Schedule of Clearance Fees, and issues certificates against applications lodged through this site. Certificates are registered and verifiable at the point of inspection.
